DESCRIPTION

The dbed_saveconfig command is used to collect and record configuration information on Oracle, VERITAS products, and system hardware. Information is gathered in the context of a specified Oracle database. This facility is also available from the VxDBA utility and the GUI.

The utility gathers enough information to allow an administrator to reconstruct a system and database from scratch in the event of a complete system failure. The information collected is in the form of many system configuration files and the results of querying the system hardware, VERITAS products, and Oracle.

The dbed_saveconfig output displays the location where configuration has been saved.

OPTIONS

The following options are supported:

-S ORACLE_SID

Specifies the name of the Oracle database for which the configuration will be saved.

-H ORACLE_HOME

The ORACLE_HOME setting for the ORACLE_SID database.

-l DIRECTORY

An optional directory for storing configuration information. If this option is not supplied, then the data will be stored in a temporary directory under /tmp.

-n

Disables VxDBA repository refresh. By default, dbed_saveconfig will refresh the VxDBA repository if this option is not supplied.

-h

Shows command usage.

-i

Sets interactive mode.
