Information Required to Install SFRAC

The installation program prompts you for information about the cluster where you are installing VERITAS Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC. Keep the following information at hand:

Cluster Configuration

    Checkmark  The name of the cluster (must begin with a letter of the alphabet (a-z, A-Z)).

    Checkmark  The ID number of the cluster from 0-255 (each cluster within a site requires a unique ID).

    Checkmark  The host names of the nodes in the cluster.

    Checkmark  The device names for the private network links.

    Checkmark  A valid license key for VERITAS Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC.

Web-based Cluster Manager (Optional)

    Checkmark  The name of the public NIC for VCS Cluster Manager (Web Console).

    Checkmark  The virtual IP address of the NIC for Cluster Manager.

    Checkmark  The net mask for the virtual IP address.

    Checkmark  NetworkHosts IP addreses to check the connection.

SMTP/SNMP (Optional)

    Checkmark  Domain-based address of the SMTP server.

    Checkmark  Email address of SMTP-notification recipients.

    Checkmark  Severity level of events for SMTP notification.

    Checkmark  System name for the SNMP console.

    Checkmark  Severity level of events for SNMP notification.

    Note   Note    The installation of VCS using the installer utility is similar to the installation described in the VERITAS Cluster Server Installation Guide. Refer to that guide for more extensive details on installing VCS.
