Adding a Node

You can add a node to your existing Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC cluster in phases:

  • Phase 1: Checking the new node meets the requirements for installation of SFRAC.
  • Phase 2: Physically adding a new node to the cluster.
  • Phase 3: Installing SFRAC on the new node.
  • Phase 4: Starting VxVM by running vxinstall.
  • Phase 5: Configuring LLT, GAB, VCSMM, ODM, and VXFEN drivers.
  • Phase 6: Configuring the CVM service group to reflect the new cluster node.
  • Phase 7: Setting up Oracle (if Oracle is installed on shared storage) or installing Oracle (if Oracle is installed locally on the existing cluster nodes).
  • Phase 8: Configuring a new Oracle instance on the new node.
