Creating CDS Disks from Uninitialized Disks

To create a CDS disk from an uninitialized disk, use one of the following commands:

  • vxdisksetup
  • vxdiskadm

Using vxdisksetup

To create a CDS disk, use the vxdisksetup command:

# vxdisksetup -i disk

The format defaults to cdsdisk unless overridden by the /etc/default/vxdisk file (refer to Defaults Files).

Alternatively, you can override the default format by specifying the format attribute:

# vxdisksetup -i disk format=cdsdisk

See the vxdisksetup(1M) manual page for more information.

Using vxdiskadm

Use the "Add or initailize one or more disks" option. You are prompted to specify the format.
