Oracle Multimedia DICOM Java API enables users to write Java applications using the Oracle Multimedia object designed to store Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) data. Oracle Multimedia DICOM Java API is a component of Oracle Multimedia, a feature designed to manage multimedia content within Oracle Database.
Oracle Multimedia enables Oracle Database to store, manage, and retrieve media data in an integrated fashion with other enterprise information. Oracle Multimedia DICOM extends Oracle Database reliability, availability, and data management to DICOM content including single-frame and multiframe images, waveforms, video segments, and structured reports. Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) is the dominant standard for radiology imaging and communication. Oracle Multimedia provides support and native understanding for this medical standard.
