Memory Module Product Note

This product note is written for users who wish to install or extract single-wide or double-wide memory modules on a Netra trademark CP2000 series or CP2100 series CompactPCI board.

Note that if a single-wide memory module is installed on a Netra CP2000/CP2100 series board, the installation of only one PMC card is supported on that board. If a double-wide memory module is installed on a Netra CP2000/CP2100 series board, no PMC cards can be installed on the board.

Check the Contents of Your Memory Kit Shipment

Memory modules are ordered separately for a Netra CP2000/CP2100 board that uses modular memory. Many boards ship with memory already installed. Refer to the documentation specific to your Netra CP2000/CP2100 board to determine the memory capacity of the board.

Single-Wide Memory Module Kit

Each memory module kit contains the following:

One single-wide memory module

Memory extraction tool (350-1235-xx)

Two turrets (230-1852-xx)

Note - Place the Netra CP2000/CP2100 board on an ESD protected surface prior to the memory module installation or extraction process

Technical Support

If you have any technical questions or technical support issues that are not addressed in the memory module documentation set or you need to return the memory board, read the details below and contact your local sales support.

Have the board identification information ready. The memory module part number, serial number, product part number, product dash, and date code can be found on labels located on the modules. For proper identification of the module, see the list below and FIGURE 3 for a typical single-wide memory module label example or FIGURE 4 for a typical double-wide memory module label example.

The Subcon label provides the following information:

Date code (for example, 0123)

Product part number (for example, 375-3026-01)

Revision number (for example rev 50)

Country of origin (for example, ASSEMBLED IN CANADA)

The Sun barcode label provides the following information:

Memory module part number (for example, 3753026) which is the first seven digits on the barcode label.

The next six digits are the memory module serial number (for example, 000230).
