o Fixed bug which caused problems with tar files without directory indices.
o Added "Convert UID/GID" to main menu - this shows the user name and group
  names corresponding to the user and group IDs of each file.
o Common library now uses Henry Spencer's regex routines (Copyright (c) 1986
  by University of Toronto), which hopefully solve portability problems.
o Removed atexit() function call which also has portability problems.
o Corrected slight error in Imakefile.
o Used Youri N. Podchosov's rewritten num_decimal() function which means I 
  don't have to link with the maths library anymore.
o Moved the window dimensions to the app-defaults file where they belong.
o Double click in the list to view the file.
o Fixed a bug in file_load() which meant files were not getting closed.
o Two new defines _USE_UTIMES and _USE_GETWD added for awkward NeXT.
o Properly formatted man page, thanks to DaviD W. Sanderson.
o Made fonts and window sizes much larger to compensate for my deteriorating
  eyesight. [Edit them to your liking in the app-default file].
o Added a "Save As.." option to text file viewer. Also you can edit the file
  and then save it out (useful?).
o Compiled in multi-coloured University logo on the About... box.

o Spawn an external viewer (mosaic style) when we encounter a file ending we
  recognise - this enables viewing of graphics & animations inside the tar
  archive. (Configurable via resources).
o Only root can extract files with ownership and group ID intact.
o Use gzip -d to uncompress files, rather than gunzip.
o Fixes to file selection box routines so that new files are filtered before
  the window is displayed.
o More Motif1.1/X11R4 hacks.
o Changes to Xbr library to give names to menu widgets. This allows the Time
  Stamp and Permission toggles to be set from resources.
o Added a _INTEGRATE #define for use when integrating XTar into other
  applications - this is primarily for using the XTar proggy inside XBrowser
  [which is why it was originally written!].
o Configured imake to use template file XTar.tmpl
o Wrote Makefiles for those without imake
o No longer use strerror() which seems not to be portable

o Added option to unpack tar archive into a selected directory. 
o Now displays information about size of current tar archive and its size when
  unpacked.
o User can now set time stamp, permissions, ownership and group ID on files
  when they have been extracted.
o Ported to more platforms and Motif1.1/X11R4 compatible.
o Deleted lots of obsolete code.
