Specifying Flags

Follow this procedure to specify flags:

  1. Click on the Flag field and type the actual flag that the command expects, such as -k.

  2. Click this on if the flag is optional. Click this off if the flag is required.

  3. Provide a brief description of the flag. This description appears in the Execute window as a flag prompt each time the command is executed. (Example)

  4. Click this on if this flag takes a parameter. Then:

    1. Choose a type.

    2. Optionally specify a default value.

    3. This should be on if the command expects a space between the flag and its parameter (-k LPS40). Click this button off if the command expects no space (-kLPS40).

  5. When the Flag window is first opened, there is only one flag form. Click on More to append another flag form and specify another flag.
Note: Subsequent flag forms cannot be added until the last flag form's Flag field contains something. You must scroll down to the next flag form before entering the flag information.
