Can I use the browser-based webtop without Java™ technology?
Yes. The browser-based webtop uses Java™ applets to
- install and start the Sun Secure Global Desktop Client; and
- display applications on the webtop or in a new browser window.
If your organization prefers not to use Java technology, you must use the "thin" style webtop (http://server/sgd/thin.jsp
). Using the thin webtop means:
- You must run the webtop in your default web browser.
- You may have to manually download and install the Sun Secure Global Desktop Client.
- You have to start the Sun Secure Global Desktop Client with command-line arguments before logging in to Secure Global Desktop.
- Applications can't display on the webtop or in a new browser window.
- You may have to manually refresh the webtop display.
