2 Installing Oracle Database and Creating a Database

This chapter describes how to install Oracle Database software and create a database.

If you are using an earlier release of Oracle Database and want to install a later release of the Oracle Database software, you can upgrade your existing Oracle Database and use it with the new release of the database software. See "Upgrading a Database".
