This illustration shows three Web clients connecting to an Oracle database through an application Web server configured with Oracle Connection Manager. The connections from the clients are funneled to a single network connection to an Oracle database. The database server shows a communication stack that includes two layers. From the top down, the stack is constructed with the following layers:

• RDBMS
• Oracle Net

Oracle Connection Manager uses a single network connection to connect the clients to the Oracle Net layer on the database server.
