PRODUCTION RELEASE STATUS ========================= This release is intended to be scheduled into IOLAN unit production. CONTENTS ======== This release contains Version 4.05.01 of the IOLAN firmware. Please read the product release notes for a description of features, enhancements and bug fixes for this version. You should only upgrade to this version of firmware if your product was not shipped with this version AND you require to use one or more of its features. Firmware Installation via TFTP ============================== To download the new firmware image to your IOLAN unit, your fileserver must support TFTP protocol. 1. Install/enable TFTP service on your fileserver. 2. On your IOLAN server unit: a. Enter Admin mode and type in the Iolan password. b. Change to the server configuration menu. c. Enter the IP address of the host machine in the Boot host field. d. Enter the path name of the firmware in the Boot file field. For example: /etc/term_serv/firmware/p-4.04.05-DL 3. Reboot the IOLAN and check the downloading message appears on port 1. Once the IOLAN has booted, the firmware version will appear on the bottom left-hand corner of the connections menu. VERSION HISTORY =============== --- 4.05.01 --- Support for the new IOLAN Serial Server 10/100 product. This firmware can be used on both the new IOLAN 10/100 version (Dark Grey Box) and the existing IOLAN Serial Server (10Mb) units. In addition the support of the removal of the reset switch on the back on the IOLAN unit to be performed by the software upon bootup (see IOLAN Serial Server User Guide for details). --- 4.04.05 --- The following technical issues have been resolved within this release: - Resolves the problem where the unit resets to factory default if the unit loses power while booting up - SNMP CERT Security Advisory - Traps were only sent to the first configured trap host - Resolved server lockup when using lpr/lpd and the printer goes offline. When offline, lpr continues to send print requests that get queued up in the IOLAN. The lpr client closes the TCP connection after a while. When the printer goes online again ( after 10 min), IOLAN tries to process the print request but get an error. - Fixed problem associated with trying to forward/respond to IP broadcasts that were not intended for IOLAN server - Corrected an inactivity timer.
