SCSI Cable and Terminator Connectors

SCA 80-pin New SCA 80-pin
VHDCI 68

New SCSI interface used on the latest systems with ULTRA 40/80 controllers and peripherals.


 
DB-68 (Differential or SCSI-3)

68-pin SCSI-3 connectors are found on the cables used to connect external peripherals to a differential or wide SCSI interface.

Mini-50 (SCSI-2)

These connectors are a popular choice for new computers and peripherals. 50 pins are arranged in two rows.

DD-50SA (SCSI-1)

These connectors were used on some third-party equipment and older Sun CPU's. 50 pins are arranged in three rows.


This DB-50 pin-and-socket connector is not recognized by the SCSI specifications. Used on older Sun and DG computers for 8-bit Narrow SCSI applications.

DB25

This pin-and-socket DB25 connector was used on Apple computers, devices directed at the Apple market and some older Sun workstations. Not recognized by the SCSI specs.

This pin-and-socket DB25 connector was used on Apple computers, devices directed at the Apple market and some older Sun workstations. Not recognized by the SCSI specs. SCSI systems with this connector must be limited to Slow data rates and be no more than 4 or 5 feet long
Centronics 50 (SCSI-1)

Centronics 50 was once quite common on third party peripherals.


This 50-contact, centronics-type, ribbon contact connector is used for Slow, Fast or Ultra, 8-bit Narrow SCSI applications. Frequently called the

 

Monitor and Keyboard Connectors

HD-15 (Video)

This is currenttly the standard connector for PC monitors and video cards.

DB13W3 (Video)

This is currenttly the standard connector for Sun monitors and frame buffers.

4 x BNC (Video)

This connector is used on older monitors, frame buffers, and accelerators. Many third party monitors also have this connector.

DB-9 (Mono Video - obsolete)

This connector was used on most older monochrome monitors.

Mini DIN-8 (Keyboard)

This is the standard connector for type 4 and type 5 Sun keyboards.

DB-15 (Keyboard - obsolete)

This `D-Shell' connector was used for pre-sun4 keyboard connections, such as the Type-3 keyboard.

Miscellaneous Workstation Connectors

DB-25

Used for some RS-232 and RS-423 serial connections. This is also used for the parallel connection on IBM printers.

Mini-26

Used on the audio/AUI and parallel port connectors of the SS10, LX, and parallel port of the Classic.

Mini-26/DB-15

This connector is used to split the audio and AUI on the SS10 and LX machines.

Centronics 36

Used for standard parallel Centronics printers. Similar to the Centronics 50 but not as wide.

Mini DIN-8

This connector is the one used for some serial ports, as well as audio, keyboards and mice.

DB-15 (AUI)

The standard AUI connector is used for network connections.
